The Putnam County Board of Health is the governing body for all health department services. Board members are elected by the District Advisory Council, which is made up of township trustee presidents, village mayors, and the president of the county commissioners. The Board of Health is responsible for protecting public health through prevention and restriction of disease, and the prevention, abatement, and suppression of nuisances. Monthly meetings are open to the public and held the second Thursday of the month, at 6:30 p.m., at the Putnam County Health Department.

Any person wishing to place an item on the agenda shall register their intent with the Health Department Administrator no later then ten (10) days prior to the meeting and include:

  1. Name and address of the participant;
  2. Group affiliation, if and when appropriate;
  3. Detailed topic to be addressed.

Such requests shall be subject to the approval of the Health Commissioner and the Board President.
